How to Prepare an OEM Small Appliance RFQ

A useful RFQ gives an appliance manufacturer enough context to assess a project before making assumptions. It should identify the commercial and technical decisions that affect the proposed model, configuration and delivery plan.

Start with the market

State where the product will be sold and the electrical version needed. This helps the team discuss voltage, plug, packaging language and documentation requirements.

Describe the product

Include the category, reference model, required functions, appearance direction, colors and accessories. Explain changes required from any reference version.

Include the commercial plan

• Estimated order quantity.
• Sample requirement and evaluation timing.
• Target launch or delivery window.
• Branding, packaging and document needs.
